Job description

CareerFoundry is helping people build a career they love through immersive online courses and career services. As Senior HR Manager you will support our team growth, from 40 people today to estimated 80 people end of next year, and beyond.

 

Mission as Senior HR Manager

You will report directly to the CEO and your mission will be to hire great people, nurture a culture of continuous learning, and cooperate with the Business Admin team on contracts, staff files and payroll.

 

Outcomes for 2019 and 2020

1. Hiring and onboarding

  • Assist leadership in planning short- and long-term staffing needs

  • Gather yearly salary benchmarks

  • Support hiring managers in recruiting and onboarding

2. Career development

  • Support teams in creating non-managerial career tracks

  • Train managers in coaching and leadership skills

  • Organize and lead professional development initiatives and team trainings

3. Culture

  • Conduct quarterly team surveys and qualitative interviews

  • Collaborate with leaders on initiatives to improve morale and reinforce core values

  • Lead our Diversity and Inclusiveness efforts

  • Manage mediation and grievance processes

  • Organize team events from team breakfasts to offsites

4. Administration

  • Understand and enforce work safety and legal regulations

  • Create contracts and assist with visa applications

  • Carry out salary reporting, working closely with our tax accountant

Requirements

Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years HR experience in startup environments

  • Experience in hiring senior people

  • Experience in building cultures of learning, growth, and psychological safety

  • Analytical with a high dose of curiosity in discovering what people need to deliver the best work possible

  • Highly empathetic people person with a growth mindset and great communication skills

  • Excellent understanding of the German labour market and labour laws

  • Skilled in working with digital HR tools like DATEV or Recruitee, etc.

  • Good understanding of business: P&L, budgeting, KPIs, and OKRs

  • German native & English fluent skills

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with the ed-tech sector

 

This is an “Mid-to Senior” position. The salary band for this lies between EUR 50.000,- and EUR 60.000,- annual gross. Your relevant experience will influence the final salary.
