The Marketing Copywriter is responsible for all things text-related within the Marketing Team. You’ll be a very adept writer who’s equally at home drafting website copy and writing blog posts as scripting YouTube videos and podcasts. You have a knack for knowing what copy will work on which channels and why–and you’ll be able to show us the numbers to prove it. Sound interesting?

1. Working within the Marketing Team to produce powerful copy that inspires people to follow their dreams and build a career they love.

  • Crafting copy for a variety of communications, including advertising, video scripts, podcasts, social media, email, and short form workbooks and ebooks

  • Creating engaging blog and website copy on the topics of design and web development  

  • Translating strategic direction and SEO input from briefs into effective and engaging copy that inspires people to change their lives

  • Looking for creative copy solutions for our communications channels, and develop and adapt our tone of voice to maximize impact on these channels

  • Supporting the Marketing Team behind the scenes with video shoots and running customer-facing events

2.  Growing and managing a pool of freelance writers

  • Identifying mentors and tutors already working with CareerFoundry to write for us

  • Building relationships with experts in the fields of design and development in order to bring on guest writers

  • Proofreading copy and submissions from colleagues and guest writers

  • Reporting on quality of submissions and performance of guest writers’ posts

3. Manage relationships with industry publishers

  • Pitching guest posts to publishers operating in design and development

  • Benchmarking and analyzing the performance of guest posts

  • Strengthening the relationship with any publications having a positive impact on our traffic and visibility

  • Pitching content collaborations to improve reach and address new audiences

4. Analyzing and increasing organic traffic to the website

  • Conducting keyword research in order to identify new content topics

  • Keeping up-to-date with best practices in SEO and social media

  • Using analytics tools (i.e. HubSpot, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs) to monitor, optimize and report on content performance



  • 1-3 years of copywriting experience at an ad/marketing agency, tech company, or startup.

  • English native speaker

  • Proofreading and copyediting skills

  • Knowledgeable about social media platforms

  • Knowledgeable about what attributes copy requires to perform on different distribution channels, primarily Organic Search (SEO) and Social.

  • Tech savvy enough to appeal to people looking to switch into a career in tech

  • Creative enough to grab their attention and decipher the fields in accessible language

  • Experience working across teams in a collaborative environment a plus

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Understanding of design processes and web development is a BIG plus
